What now?

I have started to listen to Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Although it´s not one of the oldest it is still an oldie. So this will be my fourth.

Here´s a video from You Tube: Daunt Debate, part one

Old english ghost story

I really enjoy reading Susan Hills ghost storys. She is very good at finding the right feeling.

I have read Woman in Black and The Small Hand before this one and I liked them all.

This is my third "oldie".

The Glass Bead Game

The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse is in many ways a strange novel. It tells the story of the man who is to become The Game Master (Magister Ludi) in a future society, but you never gets to know him. The novel is more about ideas, history, philosophy, music and mathematics. It´s about how to live our lives.

I found it quite boring at times, and it is a demanding novel. It´s not easy read. I, at least, had to struggle with it. Still it gave me something, it made me think and I´m very glad I finally read it after having it collecting dust so many years in my bookshelf.

I give it a 4 out of five.

Ann-Maries first read oldie

I just finished Sofi Oksanens Purge. I bought it last year and started to read it, but although I liked it, I put it aside until now.

It´s a dark and sad story of womens history in Estonia during and after the second world war.

I found it very interesting because I haven´t really read or learnt about the estonian people.

I´m starting the New Year and this new challenge with one of my oldest books. I bought in 1981 I think, and still haven´t read it...
So now is the time.
